CLEANING

Hamster needs to always have a clean home, to be healthy. You must never let the dwelling damp. This should be careful, especially in cases of terrarium, because they badly circulating air. Every day is a good look at all corners of the cage, because hamsters’ excess food likes to hide and could there be rotten pieces of fruit or curled seeds, which quickly begin to mold. Do not feed it therefore greater quantities than hamster consumes in one day. Bowls for food and water bottle daily cleaned. Grew moist bedding every two days to remove and replace it with fresh. About once a week, do general cleaning cages – that means completely remove the bedding material to the nest again, if necessary restore, cage or terrarium wash in warm water with added mild disinfecting agent (soap). Do not strongly aromatic and aggressive cleaners – they can be dangerous for hamsters. How often is necessary to perform “general cleaning”, also depends on the size of the cages, the number of animals, the type of food and animal species. For example if you Djungarian hamster, there is no need to clean the cage so often. Cleaning the cage is not an unpleasant job, if you do it often enough and if you really love their pets.
